Blogger and Filipino - in one sentence!

Pinoy Awareness on Blogging

I got the comic above from blogcomics.net. And this must have come about because of this other news I read -"Blogger is now in Filipino" Yess! But now what does THAT mean?? I understood it when they had Blogger in some other language that uses a different character set other than the English alphabet. And I am not really sure if Filipino bloggers will shift to a Tagalog theme. Just the same, I am THRILLED to be recognized as one of the largest communities in the blogosphere!

You know its nice to know that google is now in Filipino , but its rather confusing, what i understand is it should be in tagalog, not Filipino because there are still other dialects in Visaya, ilokano, pampanganeo, and other local dialects but i would accept it to mean Google in Tagalog.

Yes, Tagalog is the right word. Filipino is more citizenship or what we call ourselves, as people coming from the Philippines. I think the people at blogger already know this because I am sure many already pointed this out to them but I think it is not something significant for them to write about and announce.

I am pleasantly surprised to see that someone else is reading my blog. Thank you for posting a comment :)

Filipino is the correct term for the Philippine national language. It is just terminology to standardize what the language is - it is still Tagalog that the language is based on.

See the wikipedia here:

It is thrilling to see blogger recognize Filipino bloggers though.
